Q. What stores can I find GS Pro Series' Guitars at?

We sell factory direct. By removing the "middle man" we are able to provide our customers a professional grade instrument at the best price possible. www.gsproseries.com is the only location that our guitars can be found. Check out our sound bytes and our Artists page. Backed by our two year manufacturers warranty you can feel confident in owning a GS Pro Series handcrafted guitar!

Q. Do you offer custom cases, or other accessories ?

We would like to in the near future. Note: our guitars fit almost all standard cases.

Q. We don't see any "big names" on your site endorsing your guitars, how come?

The clients that play our guitars, play them because they want to... not because we pay them too ! We do feature any of our clients that provide us with their material on our artists page as a service to them. We promote musicians not endorsements !

Q. Why just standard dot inlays and not anything fancier ?

Other makers might use inlay for a flashy style and look. In order to cut costs, particularly with larger inlay designs, plastic or ceramic substitutions are used. In many cases maple fingerboards are dyed black as well to imitate real ebony. This hampers sound and playability. Other makers that still use real pearl tend to up sell their guitars many times over. We only use ebony or rosewood fingerboards in tandem with traditional pearl dot inlays, to preserve that classic style, enhance your sound quality, without breaking your budget.

Q. Why use only natural and water based finishes?

First of all to dispel a myth that solvent based finishes are stronger, this is entirely not true. Many of today's water based finishes are more durable, do not yellow, will not check or orange peel, and as in the case of the polyurethane top coat that we use, has UV protection so the light will not damage the wood or fade the color. Water based finishes are also of course much better for you and the environment. Solvent based finishes not only have usually very high CFC and VOC content, but alot of them are also known carcinogens. Not even just the solvent either, alot of today's polymers that are used can be as well. As the laws become stricter, more than likely all solvent based finish will be removed from our market place. GS Pro Series strongly supports this and will continue to use only water based finish, with the exception of the tung oil we use on our necks which is a 100% natural and safe finish. We this to protect ourselves, the environment, and most importantly you, the client.

Q. What kind of parts and hardware do you use?

We use only the best parts we can, such as Gotoh® tuners and bridges. Golden Age® pickups are used to deliver our sound. These parts are not commonly found in stores, however we have tried just about every brand you can think of when designing our guitars. These outperformed the vast majority of other brands.

Q. What difference does handcrafted make?

By handcrafting our guitars individually, it allows us to better match wood, detect possible defects, and keep a certain degree of individuality to each model that is made. It brings the old world concept of integrity to every guitar that we build, yet has a modern look and feel.
